Myrrh
Commiphora myrrha
Somali: Malmal · also known as Heerabol, Myrrhe, Echte Myrrhe, True Myrrh
Character
Myrrh adds the region's second defining note to our frankincense range. Commiphora myrrha grows in the lower elevations of the Sanaag interior, separate from the frereana cliffs. The oil is deeper, more bitter and more persistent than frankincense, complementary, not interchangeable. First batch in preparation. Availability expected Q4 2026 – Q1 2027.
Olfactory profile
Warm, balsamic-bitter, with earthy depth. Very long persistence. Dries down with a lightly resinous echo.
